The SEAS Foundation was incorporated under the Ontario Corporation Act on June 14, 2013. It is an affiliated association of S.E.A.S. Centre (Support Enhance Access Services) and also successfully registered as a Canadian charity under subsection 248(1) of the Income Tax Act (Canada) in the same year. The registered charity number is 80866 6937 RR0001.

Every year, the SEAS Foundation conducts two fundraising events except for the years 2020 & 2021 due to COVID restrictions. 

It has accomplished diverse and exceptional fundraising events supporting S.E.A.S. Centre to deliver non-government funded projects and services. Those fundraising events are significant, full of joy and memorable performances including Annual Gala, TV Live Show, Private Kitchen, Golf Tournament, and On-line Singing Performance. 

The SEAS Foundation will be looking for another milestone with the support of our directors, friends, and donors as well as the community at large.

Michelle Chu

Michelle Chu

Michelle Chu has had a long career with and within all aspects of the media. Having originally graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, she soon realized her true passion was with the media. This prompted her to get her Diploma in Television and Radio Broadcasting.  Deciding to broaden her skills, she obtained licenses to be a real estate broker, and life insurance and financial consultant.

Michelle took her expertise from years of working in the media.   She was an anchor & TV program host for GuangDong Television as well as Hong Kong TVB.  To get involved with business side of the industry, she & partners founded WOWTV in 2008.  WOWTV is a 24 hours  broadcasting Chinese TV station on Rogers 577, 808, Bell 710, Telus 2828 across Canada.  Now, not only does she work as Vice President & TV program host of WOWTV, she is still active as a real estate broker & a life insurance and financial consultant.

Michelle is actively involved with the community.  She is the founding & past chair of SEAS foundation. She is also the current president of Markham Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association (2020-2022), past president of Toronto Elegant Lions Club.  She hopes to further her contributions to the community.

Edmond Tin

Edmund Tin

Edmund Tin had been a CPA volunteer since his graduation in 1993. As from 1999, he had been elected to be a director of CGA Association and became the Chair of CPA Toronto South Association, Ontario from 2014 to 2017. He is actively involved in local communities and takes leadership role in several not for profit organizations such as Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs, Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals and SEAS Foundation etc. Given his contribution to the community, both CPA Association and the Ontario Government had presented him the Distinguished Service Awards. He had been invited to be speaker on a variety of topics for various functions.

Apart from Edmund’s expertise in the tax/succession planning and investment areas, he is also a seasoned banker. He has been engaged in the banking field for over 20 years, holding senior positions in Bank of America, Bank of China and Scotia Bank etc. After quitting his banking career 2002, he has been working as a tax accountant/consultant for many professionals and small business owners on taxation, succession planning, financing and risk/cash management. 

In addition to advisory services, he is licensed to execute various plans within the compliance parameter. Presently, he spent 80 % of his time in investment & insurance with balance of 20 % in tax and accounting area.

Scott Au

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, Scott is proud of his Chinese-Acadian upbringing.  Scott completed his MBA and LLB from l’Université de Moncton which allowed him to master French at a University level.  In 2008, Scott obtained his accounting designation (CMA) and was called to the bar in 2010.  Scott worked for a prominent bay street law firm gaining valuable experience in business and real estate law.  In business law, Scott uses his legal, business and accounting knowledge and experience to help his clients formulate effective strategies while advising on various operational issues.  This is to ensure the overall satisfaction of stakeholders within their company.  In real estate law, Scott employed the latest technologies to streamline his real estate transactions, improving both quality and service to his clients. 

Scott has experience in civil, criminal and family litigation.  Scott is active in his community, being a Treasurer and Director of the The Cross Cultural Community Services Association.  Scott is also the director and legal counsel of the following not-for-profit and charitable organizations:

Chinese Canadian Liberal Association;

Chinese Canadian Advertising, Marketing & Media Association;

Support Enhance Access Service (SEAS) Foundation; 

Hua Zuo Centre Canada;

Scott is a regular legal expert on Fairchild Radio (AM1430).  Scott’s Cantonese radio show (Law and Justice), can be heard every Saturday at 4:30 pm.

Sophia Sun

Sophia Sun

Sophia Sun is the founder and president of Phoenix Financial Inc. which she established in 2005. She is also founder and president of the Canada China investment Association (CCIA), executive director of The Confederation of Toronto Chinese Canadian Organizations, an honorary advisor to the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, advisory board member of the Flato Markham Theatre, and director of membership for the Elegant Lions Club. 

As CCIA president, Sophia organized a Mayor Trade Mission Delegation in 2013 and 2015 and led two groups of mayors from across Ontario on visits to China to promote strong economic and cultural relations between the countries. 

A life-changing personal triumph for Sophia was in April 2018, when she joined Markham Stouffville Hospital staff and community leaders in a climb to the Mount Everest Base Camp which raised over $750,000 for the hospital. 

Sophia is the recipient of several awards, including the “Chinese-Canadian Economic and Trade Promotion Award”, the “Outstanding Chinese Professional Achievement Award”, the Chinese Professional Women of Canada “Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Award” and the coveted “Ten-Year Volunteer Award” issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.

Stone Yu

Stone Yu is currently working and managing his family owned business, Lucullus Bakery. Lucullus Bakery has been operating since 1991 and has locations in Richmond Hill and Markham. Within the business, he focuses mainly on quality control, product development, and staff management. From a very early age he began his training in aspects of the business such as the processes in production, staff training, and strategic planning. Lucullus Bakery has recently made investments into a centralized production facility which has been vital to its wholesale program. Lucullus Bakery currently sells wholesale packaged products, such as butter cookies, to 15 supermarkets in Canada. Prior to the launch of the wholesale program, Stone has worked to put together the necessary components which has allowed it to be successful. Packaging design, recipe formulation, and procedure organization were key aspects Stone had focused on. Stone believes that he would be beneficial addition to the business association. In addition, he hopes he can learn more about the business community in the GTA.

David Chau

David Chau is a highly experienced professional in the Southern Ontario real estate industry. After establishing himself in sales and marketing within a company listed on Fortune 500, he transitioned to the investment sector and achieved remarkable success. Driven by ambition and dynamism, David then ventured into real estate and development, rapidly ascending the ranks in leading companies across the region.

With extensive travel experience throughout Southern Ontario and around the world, David possesses comprehensive knowledge of the industry. These qualities culminated in his current position as CEO and Co-Founder of Trulife Developments Inc. and Tachson Construction Inc., where he leads with expertise and vision. He holds an undergraduate degree from Wilfred Laurier University and has obtained the Real Estate Development Certification offered by The REDI Foundation.

David Chau is also actively involved in the community as the Vice President and the Treasurer of the Markham, Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association (MRVCBA). He is dedicated to promoting the interest and unity of the Chinese business community in the Region and enhancing trade and investment opportunities between local and global markets. 

As the Director of Toronto Chinese Community Services Association (TCCSA), David plays a pivotal role in the organization’s mission of assisting thousands of newcomers to settle and integrate into Canadian society each year. With over four decades of experience, TCCSA is dedicated to serving the immigrant community in the Greater Toronto Area, and David’s leadership and direction contribute significantly to its success.

Through his various roles, David Chau exemplifies leadership, philanthropy, and a commitment to making a difference in both the business and charitable sectors.

Rebecca Lee

Rebecca Lee, is a retired Executive Director of SEAS Centre, where she has worked for 34 years since immigrated to Toronto in 1987. Having the support from her family members, she keeps actively involvement of the community occasions. With a long working experience;  professional knowledge and skills in social work field as well as a good networking in the community,  she continually contributes her rest of time to the community through volunteering.

Peggy Tse

Peggy graduated from The University of Manitoba and holds a Bachelor degree, major in Economics and minor in Business Management. After graduation, Peggy went back to Hong Kong and worked for 10 years in the Human Resources field, and The Prudential Assurance Company HK Limited as an insurance agent, top producer with tons of awards.

Peggy is currently Vice President and Real Estate Broker of RE/MAX Trillion Realty. She has been experienced and knowledgeable in the real estate industry for 13 years. With her passion in the real estate career, She absolutely understands her clients’ needs, helps them step by step to cross the finish line to their dream homes as well as investment properties.
